The Seller postal address (BG-5) shall contain a Seller country code (BT-40).

What does this rule mean?

The seller address is missing the country code (BT-40).

Official rule message (standard)

The Seller postal address (BG-5) shall contain a Seller country code (BT-40).

Where the rule applies

Syntax: CII · UBL

The same rule, expressed twice: UBL and CII name the same fields with different paths. Running a CII file against the UBL rules is why you get errors that mean nothing.

UBL

  • cac:AccountingSupplierParty/cac:Party/cac:PostalAddress

CII

  • /rsm:CrossIndustryInvoice

Technical test

The rule passes when this Schematron expression holds true:

normalize-space(rsm:SupplyChainTradeTransaction/ram:ApplicableHeaderTradeAgreement/ram:SellerTradeParty/ram:PostalTradeAddress/ram:CountryID) != ''
